Final Fantasy 15 is a Bad Game

I honestly wish I could recommend this game. I really do. It has by far one of the best first halves to any game I’ve ever played. Truely awe inspiring in it’s beauty, design, mechanics, and story. But that’s just the first half.

I honestly don’t know what happened behind the scenes, but i refuse to believe this game was made entirely by one team. It feels as if a good, hard working, wonderfully creative team worked on the first half, then something happened, and a lot of people who shouldn’t have jobs took over the second half.

The second half is so chalk full of bad writing, massive missed opportunities, poor level design, and a myriad of other problems, that it just makes me so, so incredibly sad. So unfortunately I can’t recommend only half a game. This is not a very good game.

It’s all over the place in terms of story, it ends abruptly, its action isn’t very robust, and overall it feels unfinished, even with the expansion – mainly because it is.

Yet, I keep coming back to this game.
Why? I can’t really explain it. Maybe it’s the gorgeous visuals, maybe it’s the fun characters, maybe it’s just the relaxing road-trip atmosphere enhanced with mods that change the music to whatever you like. I have fun with it, but I can definitely see its flaws, of which there are a lot. Because of them, I can’t in good conscience recommend this game, especially not on sale, but if you know what you’re getting into and don’t expect the world from this game, you can have a good bit of fun with it.

Hopefully, FF15 walked so that FF7R will run.
